ISLAMABAD, Nov 18: The National Alliance, Muttahida Qaumi Movement and PML (Functional) have not filed nomination papers for the office of speaker and deputy speaker of the National Assembly.

The process of filing papers was completed here on Monday at the Parliament House and candidates from the PML-Q, Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal and People’s Party Parliamentarians filed papers for the speakership and deputy speakership. The PML-N filed papers only for the office of deputy speaker.

Four-party alliance of the PML(Chatha), PML(Zia), Pakistan Awami Tehrik and Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf has not fielded their joint candidate.

The National Assembly would elect its 15th speaker and 11th deputy speaker on Tuesday through secret balloting.—APP
