MADRID: Veteran Juventus striker Alessandro Del Piero wants to extend his football career for another three years at least.

Juventus and Del Piero have already confirmed this will be the 37-year-old's last season at the Serie A club.

Del Piero said in an interview with Spanish newspaper El Pais, however, that he wants to play “until I'm 40” and “I don't want to say where I'll finish my career, I want to finish this phase calmly. What will be will be.”

He is Juve's all-time leading scorer since joining in 1993 and has helped the club win five Serie A titles and the Champions League in 1996.

Del Piero, Juventus' most capped player with nearly 700 games, was a member of Italy's 2006 World Cup-winning team. ?
