Burglars kill man, woman

HARIPUR, Nov 16: Burglars murdered a young man, a woman and injured another one in two different incidents of burglaries here on Thursday.

Police said four armed men sneaked into the house of one Azmat Khan of village Dhairi Sikandarpur, some two km from here. When the thieves were breaking the locks of a room, the inmates got hold one of them but in a bid to set him free his other accomplices opened fire killing Azmat and his brother sustained injuries. One thief identified as Babar Khan son of Maqbool-ur-Rehman also sustained bullet injuries and both were taken to DHQ.

In the second incident four burglars broke in the house of Aziz-ur-Rehman of village Chak Moneem on Friday afternoon, some 15 km from here, and injured his wife Zuria Sultan with dagger when she tried to put up resistance. The thieves decamped with ornaments and household articles.

The victim was taken to civil hospital Khanput but died of injuries on the way.
