KARACHI, Nov 1: The 9th Karachi United Football League (KUFL) 2011-12 saw an intriguing match at Korangi Baloch Stadium here on Monday evening.

Three-time KUFL champions Shahzad Mohammadan (Malir) — winners in 2007, 2008 and 2009 — were left cursing their strikers’ poor finishing against last year’s KUFL runners-up Mauripur Baloch as both teams played a goalless draw in their Group ‘A’ clash.

Against a rather youthful Mauripur Baloch side, Shahzad Mohammadan strikers Mohammad Baloch, Mohammad Asghar, Adil Khan and Shahnawaz showed great play between them as they stretched the opposing defence thin, but miserably failed to find the target.

Likewise Mauripur Baloch’s strikers Majid Rasheed, Abdul Wahab, M Hanif and Salal Razzaq also created a few chances at the other end, but failed to find the target.

Both sides had to share a point each as a result of the draw.

The match was supervised by referees Iqrar Hussain, Mohammad Umar and Abdul Latif with Abdul Karim as match commissioner.
