Imran shines for KESC

KARACHI, Nov 15: All-rounder Imran Javed excelled with bat and ball to help KESC defeat A.J. Worldwide by 43 runs in the 8th Tapal Trophy Ramazan Cricket Festival at UBL Sports Complex here Friday.

Imran scored 26 and claimed four wickets for 28 runs to be adjudged Man-of-the-Match.

Batting first, KESC made 167 in their 20 overs. Opener Tariq Haroon lashed seven fours and a brace of sixes in scoring 58 off only 33 deliveries.

Agha Sabir, the left-hander, also played a fine hand. He made 39 off 28 balls with two sixes and as many fours in the first wicket partnership of 106 with Tariq.

Slow left-armer Sami Faridi captured four for 30.

A.J. Worldwide, in reply, were restricted to 124 for nine. Khurram Manzoor, however, excelled with a knock of 58 off 40 balls. He struck six fours and a couple of sixes.

Off-spinner Tahir Khan gave good support to Imran Javed with figures of two for 15.
