Soomro to preside over NA session

ISLAMABAD, Nov 14: The former speaker of the National Assembly, Illahi Buksh Soomro, has expressed his willingness to chair the inaugural session of the NA on Saturday.

Speaking at a PTV programme, he said: “This is my constitutional duty and I will feel honoured to chair the session.”

Mr Soomro said that he would take oath from the members as written in the Constitution and afterwards all of them would sign a register.

Mr Soomro said: “The elections of the speaker and deputy speaker are held through secret ballot, while the prime minister is elected through division of the House.”—APP
