QUETTA: The Balochistan government sacked on Wednesday two senior police officers for their involvement in the killing of five foreign nationals, three of them women, in Kharotabad area in May.

The orders dismissing Sub-Inspector Fazlur Rehman, then SHO of the Airport Police Station, and Assistant Sub-Inspector Raza Khan from service were issued by the services and general administration department.

A tribunal headed by Justice Mohammad Hashim conducted a judicial inquiry into the incident. In its report the tribunal held the two officers responsible for the killing of the foreigners and recommended action against them.

Daud Junejo, the city police chief at that time, has already retired.
