MIRPURKHAS, Nov 14: The employees of the Municipal Committee Mirpurkhas observed a strike on Thursday to protest against the non-payment of their salaries.
The municipal staff gathered in front of the Municipal Committee office in the morning and raised slogans against the TMO and accounts officer.
All work in the office came to a standstill due to the strike.
Later, when the Taluka Nazim, Syed Inayat Ali Shah, assured them that their salaries would be paid they ended their strike.
Talking to newsmen, the president, Municipal Employees Union, Mirpurkhas, Basheer Chiragh, and its general secretary, Malik Mohammad Ibrahim, regretted that payment to the staff was delayed every month due to the officers’ attitude.
The Taluka Nazim, Syed Inayat Ali Shah, said it was the responsibility of the district government to provide funds for the salary of the staff in the Taluka Council.
CARDIOLOGIST: The office bearers of various NGOs have urged the secretary, health, to cancel the transfer order of Cardiologist Dr Noval Rai from Mirpurkhas to Umerkot.
Abdul Majeed Shaikh, vice president, Mirpurkhas Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Mohammad Hashim Shar, vice president, Crime Control and Social Welfare Association; and Imtiaz Panhwar, coordinator, Citizens Action Committee, in a statement issued on Thursday said that a cardiologist was needed in the evening shift at the Civil Hospital Mirpurkhas.
They demanded of the authorities concerned to review his transfer order in the interest of the local patients.
ASI: ASI Ameen Mari, who had been suspended by the DPO, Mirpurkhas, about two weeks ago on charges of having a relationship with two dacoits, Mumtaz Mari and Yousuf Mari, was handed over to the Sanghar district police on Thursday.
