VEHARI, Oct 23: A man cut his wife's nose, lips, and a hand allegedly when she refused to dance with him at a circus in Luddan, some 30km from here, on Saturday. Gushan Bibi, 18, married Abbas Hashmi, of Luddan, a year ago. Abbas was dancer in a local circus and would force her to dance with him.

On Saturday night, Abbas again forced Gulsan to dance with him but she refused that annoyed Abbas and he cut her nose, lips and a hand and fled. Gulshan was taken to DHQ Hospital.

Talking to Dawn, Gulshan said that her husband – also a junkie – used to torture her despite compelling her to dance.

Luddan SHO Malik Imdad said that a case had been registered against Abbas under Section 324, 337-A1, 337-A2, 337-F1 and 337-F2 on the application of Gulshan's mother Khalida Bibi with no arrest so far. — Correspondent
