Bilqis Zardari laid to rest

NAWABSHAH, Nov 13: Bilqis Zardari, the wife of Hakim Ali Zardari and the mother of Asif Ali Zardari, was laid to rest here on Wednesday.

Her Namaz-i-Janaza was offered at the Zardari House on Wednesday morning and her body was taken to the Balo jo Qubo graveyard for burial amid tight security arrangements.

Hundreds of people, including senior members of the People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPP) and other party workers, attended the funeral prayers of Bilqis Zardari, here on Wednesday.

The body of Bilqis Zardari was brought to the Zardari House in Nawabshah late Tuesday night. She had died after a prolonged illness on Tuesday in Karachi.

A large number of politicians, including the chief of the PPP, Makhdoom Amin Fahim, the chief of the PPP Punjab, Qasim Zia, Aftab Shahban Mirani, Aitzaz Ahsan, Raza Rabbani, Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah, Nisar Khuhro, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Ahmed Mukhtar, the district Nazim of Hyderabad, Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman, Sindh minister for Food and Cooperatives Hassan Ali Chanhio and Nazimuddin Bundi of the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal, Nawabshah, arrived at the Zardari House to offer their condolences.

Meanwhile, the parole of Asif Ali Zardari was extended till Saturday, source at the Zardari House said.
