GUJRANWALA, Nov 13: Students of the local Government Islamia College and activists of the Anjuman-i-Tulaba Islam took out a protest procession here on Wednesday against formation of boards of governors in educational institutions.
They gathered in college compound at 10am when their teachers boycotted the classes and held a protest meeting. The students carrying banners and placards paraded on various roads and chanted slogans against the denationalization policy.
Student leaders Qaisar Shahzad, Mahmood Ahmad and Farooq Arif threatened that they would observe a strike if the decision in this regard was not taken back.
TOBA TEK SINGH: Students staged a protest rally here to support the demands of the teaching staff.
The rally started from Jhang Road and reached the district council’s office whererepresentatives of the students presented a memorandumof demands in the Nazim’soffice.
Traffic remained suspended for more than one hour on Jhang-Kamalia road during the procession.
OKARA: Doctors and teachers staged a protest rally against boards of governors.
PMA president Dr Amar Yasir with the collaboration of the Punjab Professors and Lecturers Association organized the rally which started from the local degree college.
