Five police officers promoted to BS-22

ISLAMABAD, Nov 12: The establishment division on Tuesday issued a notification, promoting five grade-21 officers to grade-22.

Two of the promoted officials belong to the district management group and one official each from the police service, secretariat group and finance group.

The officials belong to the third batch of grade-21 officials whose promotion had already been approved by President Gen Pervez Musharraf.

The promotion orders of the remaining 13 officials of grade-21 are likely to be issued by the establishment division within a couple of days.

According to the notification, Shakeel Durrani (DMG), chief secretary, NWFP, has been promoted to grade-22. However, he will serve on the present post till further orders.

Another DMG officer, Syed Masood Alam Rizvi, chairman Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP), has been promoted and he will remain the TCP chairman till further orders.

Syed Masood Shah of police service, presently working as commandant, National Police College (NPC), Islamabad, has been promoted.

Additional secretary, interior ministry, Abdul Rashid Khan, belonging to secretariat group, has been promoted and posted as secretary population welfare. Before this posting, an acting charge of the secretary population welfare division was given to the secretary women’s development, Parveen Qadir Agha. Additional secretary, economic affairs division, Dr Waqar Masood, has been promoted as secretary EAD.

The government had already promoted two batches of grade-21 comprising 25 officials each.
