KARACHI: Karrar family grieved

KARACHI, Nov 16: Dr Syed Nazim Hussain Zaidi, former head of the mathematics department, University of Karachi, died here on Friday morning after protracted illness. He was 75.

He leaves behind his wife, Prof Shaista Zaidi, son Dr Abbas Kazim Zaidi and three daughters.

Funeral will be held on Saturday after Zuhar prayers in Imambargah Madinatul-Ilm, Gulshan-i-Iqbal.

Soyem will be held on Sunday at 11am in the same Imambargah.

Dr Zaidi did his MSc in Mathematics at Aligarh University and PhD at Edinburgh University. He began his career as lecturer in the KU’s Mathematics department and had been the head of the department until retiring from active service.
