ISLAMABAD: Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly, Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan while questioning whopping 7500 mw power shortfall said loadshedding could be minimized by 50 per cent through effective administrative measures.

Speaking in National Assembly here, he said 4000MW could be added in the system forthwith by utilizing the installed capacity. He said Independent Power Producers (IPPS) must be paid and supplied the fuel. Line losses have increased manifold during the last three and a half years.

He urged the Prime Minister to take stern action against the ones responsible for increasing power shortfall.

He said the government should have summoned joint session of the parliament instead of All Parties Conference (APC).

“Nobody knows at least 12 participants of APC. Perhaps they could not get votes of their close relatives. Noted leaders from Sindh, Balochistan and other provinces were wrongly ignored in the APC,” he observed.
