Javed and Atif share honours

KARACHI, Nov 11: Javed Qadeer and Atif Maqbool played key roles in helping Baqai Dolphins beat UBL Academy by 24 runs in the Karachi Gymkhana Callmate Cricket Festival at KG Ground Monday.

Javed Qadeer, the former Pakistan wicket-keeper, lashed 55 off 46 balls with the aid of three four and a brace of sixes as Baqai Dolphins made 178 for six in their allotted 25 overs.

Tariq Rasheed blasted an unbeaten 44 off 34 balls with two boundaries while Ahmer Saeed Sr hit two fours in his 32 balls 34.

UBL Academy, in reply, were restricted to 154 for eight despite Sharjeel Ashraf’s fighting 63 off 57 balls, including three fours and a couple of sixes.

Off-spinner Atif Maqbool bowled well to claim four for 21 .
