LAHORE, Sept 28: A two-day Azadi Cup Rugby tournament will commence here on Oct 1.

The event is being organised by the Punjab Rugby Association (PRA) in collaboration with Pakistan Rugby Union (PRU). Earlier, the event was supposed to coincide with the independence day, but was deferred due to Ramazan.

The competition will have two main events — the Azadi Rose Petal Rugby 7’s and the Azadi Servis Rugby 15’s Cup.

The Azadi Rose Petal 7’s will feature 12 teams including, Afghanistan, Lahore Fresher, DHA Blues, Army , Police, AIT Reds, UMT, LUMS, BNU, Garrison, MCB Greens and Lahore Colts.

The Azadi Servis Tyres Cup will have matches between two Super League teams: Lahore Rams vs Punjab Warriors.

Moreover, the Afghan team arrives in Lahore on Thursday. —Sports Reporter
