Jewellers observe strike

DADU, Nov 11: Jewellers observed strike in Dadu, Khairpur Nathan Shah, Sehwan Sharif, Mehar, Johi and Bhan Saeedabad towns and staged a rally in Dadu town on Monday.

The strike was observed on the call of the District Jewellers Association.

The jewellers were protesting against rise in crime rate in the district and were demanding recovery of gold ornaments taken away from shops of Khaliq Khushik, Talib Joyo and Qurban Joyo two days back.

Led by District Jewellers Association president Gul Mohammad Joyo, the protesters marched on main roads of the town and staged a demonstration outside the DPO office.

They ended their strike after the DPO, Ali Akbar Bhangwar, assured them the stolen ornaments would be recovered within two days.

PROTEST: A large number of minority women of Chhano Shahabad locality, Dadu, staged a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Monday against the investigation police.

Led by Hakim Zadi Oad, the women were carrying banners and placards and were raising slogans against ASIs Ashraf Shahani and Mithal Chandio.

Talking to newsmen, Ms Oad said the ASIs raided her house two days back and tortured minor children and women folk and broke the furniture of the house. They also detained her husband, Kangal, without any reason, and released him after taking bribe, she added.

She appealed for justice.

JSM: The chairman of the Jeay Sindh Mahaz, Syed Zain Shah, has said big political parties are following the policies of the military and agencies.

Talking to newsmen at the press club here on Monday, Shah said the next political government would be a weak one.
