KARACHI, Nov 11: Asad Ashraf Malik, additional inspector general of Sindh police, was on Monday transferred and posted as the capital city police officer in the rank of additional inspector general.

The former CCPO, Asad Jehangir, has been transferred and posted as the additional IGP of Sindh in place of Asad Ashraf Malik, according to a notification issued by the Sindh government.

Asad Ashraf Malik is a graduate in civil engineering from the NED University of Engineering. He joined the police service through competitive examination and remained posted throughout Sindh on various assignments. He served as DIG, Crimes Branch; DIG, Hyderabad, DIG, Headquarters, and DIG and commandant, Sindh Reserve Police.

He also twice remained additional IG of Sindh. Besides serving in the police department, he has worked as DDG, Intelligence Bureau; chairman, Cotton Export Corporation, and commissioner of the Sindh Social Security.
