PESHAWAR, Nov 11: The students of the Quaid-i-Azam Commerce College, Peshawar University, held a protest demonstration against the non-appointment of the principal and the deficiency of the teachers, on Monday.

A large number of the students, led by the Nazim, Islami Jamiat  Talba (IJT), Fazal Rehman, assembled in front of the Peshawar Press Club and chanted slogans against the university administration. The  students, holding placards and banners, blocked the Railway Road.

Later, speaking at the protest rally, the IJT Nazim said that the principal’s post had been lying vacant for the last few months and the teaching staff was also short. He said that the administration had been repeatedly asked to fill these positions but the demands were   not met.

He warned that if the demands were not met the students would launch a movement and would boycott their classes.

He urged the governor, who was also the chancellor of the university, to resolve the matter.
