HYDERABAD, Nov 11: District Nazim Dr Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman has directed cable operators to uphold the sanctity of Ramazan.

The Nazim, in a letter, asked the DCO to issue necessary instructions to cable operators to follow the restrictions as the operators had been airing indecent programmes during Ramazan.

He said it was the responsibility of the district government to regulate such channels.

WASA DUES: A meeting was held at the Shahbaz Hall here on Monday in connection with recovery of Wasa dues.

The meeting asked 12 departments to adjust their dues/claims within one month so as to clear dues of Wasa.

DCO Mir Hussain Ali presided over the meeting.

HESCO: The Hesco here on Monday notified that due to maintenance work, power supply to areas falling under 132kv new Dadu and old Dadu grid stations would be suspended from 8am to 1pm on Nov 12.

Similarly, the power supply to areas covered by 66kv Larkana, Qambhar Wara, Shahdadkot, Gahri Kario, Usta Mohammad and Jhal Magsi grid stations would be suspended from 8am to 2pm on Nov 13.

NOMINATED: The provincial government has nominated the chairman of the Charter Inspection and Evaluation Committee, education, Dr S. M. Qureshi, as a Sindh member on the higher education commission.
