Accidents claim 5 lives

GUJRANWALA, Nov 10: Five people were killed and 24 others injured in separate road accidents in and around the city on Sunday.

A primary class student, Bharwana, of Nagrey village was crushed to death by a coaster while crossing the GT Road at Kamoki.

Driver Irfan Ali was killed while six others were injured when a taxi collided head-on with a tractor-trolley on Alipur Chattha Road.

A PTCL employee, Habibullah, was hit and killed by a speeding vehicle on Sialkot Road near Buterauwali village.

Arshad died on the spot while 12 other passengers sustained injuries when a bus rammed into a roadside tree while saving a buffalo on Wahando Road. The injured were taken to the local Civil Hospital. Riasat Ali of Talwandi village, Khujoorwali, was killed and six others injured when a speeding vehicle hit a motorcycle-rickshaw on the GT Road at Rahwali. — Correspondent
