PESHAWAR: President of ANP Asfandyar Wali Khan has welcomed the withdrawal of allegations against him by the MQM chief Altaf Hussain.

Wali Khan welcomed it as a step that will ease political tension and pave the way for lasting peace in Karachi.

In a statement issued here from Baacha Khan Markaz, the ANP President expressed the confidence that the democratic forces will not carry out media trials of each others.

The ANP is a staunch supporter of the peace and condemned discriminatory treatment against the people on the basis of color, creed, ethnicity, religion, and faith etc, he added.

Wali Khan said the country was faced with enormous internal challenges and added that it was need of the hour that all the political forces should promote national harmony and reconciliation instead of promoting hatred.

Serious and sober efforts on the parts of the politicians required to get rid the country of the extremely complicated and intricate nature problems, he concluded.

MQM chief Altaf Hussain in his televised press conference had leveled serious allegations against President of ANP Afandyar Wali Khan, saying he had accepted 23million dollars from the United States that paved way for the party to form government in KPK in 2008.

The accusations by MQM Chief against the ANP leader have sparked anger in ANP ranks.
