I think Wasim suggestion makes lot of sense. I am sure each individual takes responsibility with good intentions. Circumstances and misunderstanding sometimes create problems. It's good to discuss like a family and keep issues withing the family.

I think Of course Mr Wasim Akram will done well.He has a verse knowledge about PCB with a player & Official?I think now team Pakistan will be must taken coming T20 world cup & ICC world cup guided by Wasim Akram sahab.

There are no questions about his ability as the best swing bowler of all times, he has been involved in several match fixing scandals, starting 1994 to 2000. I am not sure if he is the best choice for any cricketing job in Pakistan.

At least he is a qualified cricketer & he sure would do better then ijaz butt,who has no cricket history what so ever & applying his rules over known cricketers,its a joke of the century.We have doctor nassem ashraf,who entered in the field of cricket & leaving his patients behind if he was a real doctor,may be he felt like he can cure ailing cricket as well.

Javid Miandad is good choice after Imran Khan.

Arif Abbasi is the better choice for PCB chief. Aamir Sohail has tarnished his image, when he included ex PCB chief Tauqir Zia's son in the Pakistan team, when Aamir was chairman of selection committe.

Ithink we should remember what this man did in 1996 world cup(bangalore). Aamir Sohail and Javed Miandad are better options.

I agree with your comments he not a type of personality who can be trusted. He will promote match fixing and gambling in our cricket. Please donot give important positions to wasim akram , waqar younis, ijaz ahmed, mushtaq and others who were named culprit in qayum's report. Thank you

The PCB chairman post is a hot seat, I think Waseem should stick to what he is currently doing as an expert commentator. The PCB chairman's post will be a high pressure post, where government influence will dictate the terms as PCB is currently not free of political influence.

Its very easy to say when your not part of this system. Since Wasim is siting most of the time in India he can say like this.

The main issue is the lack of discipline of the 'boys'!! Any Chairman who does things by consensus of the 'boys' will bring back the old days when the cricketers became arrogant and wielded all the power. What does Wasim know about management? Why not let one of the 'boys' be the chairman too? Waqar Younis did a brilliant job and we must commend him on the way he handled the team. I am extremely glad that Afridi is out of the squad - there should be no room for arrogant players like him. For Wasim Akram to imply that the coach should have to get on and essentially be subservient to the 'boys' is utter nonsense.

Hey guys, why do you forget those days when Wasim was in team and played best best to win the WC for your country Pakistan. Years back I watched that much on DVD in Canada. And plus he is the player who won more matches for the country. You guys see yours personal history pages that what had you guys done the counry. At least give someone a chance to do something!! Arrogance - i watched the recent series against Zimbabwe and Pakistan and i did not like the 'arrogance" displayed by some Pakistani players - after all Zimbabwe are only minnows !!! Pakistanis need to "look" at themselves again.

Afridi was not arrogant, he just remind that Every one should mind his own business including coach Waqar. One of the main reason we won 1992 World Cup that no one was interfering in Imran Khan decisions and one of the main reason we couldn't able to win again that every was interfering in captain's job.

The Pakistanis need a person with a clean slate,who will be able to tame the players with his goodness.Believe me, we need proper guidance with dedication and honesty.

How come anyone think of Wasim Akram's appointment as the Chairman of the PCB after the ruling of Justice Qayyum?

Wasim could be a good coach but I am not sure if he capable of being chairman of the board. Plus his collusion with match fixing mafia during his playing days should exclude from any administrative role in cricket. I never thought I would see a day when I would actually say that the days of Arif Ali Abbasi were really good for Pakistan cricket but sadly here we are. Whoever is given the baton should put Pakistani cricket first and his ego second. If the time comes to go, resign and move on. Our cultural and moral compass has gone awry when we seek to cling to positions long after the sell by date has gone. This includes politicians, bureaucrats and army.

If Wasim is our cricket team coach we can certainly reach new heights but he should not come under pressure from the politics that happen around the board.

To be a great cricketer does not automatically make you a good administrator. I think a Chairman needs to be a seasoned administrator who also happens to be a former cricketer with a good grasp of the game of cricket. Wasim Akram was one of the finest players ever to don the Green cap, but does he have what it takes to lift Pakistan Cricket out of its current state. Judging by his statement in the article/interview above, I am not convinced.

I respect Wasim Akram a lot. He was a very good cricketer and now he is doing a great job at commentating, but that does not mean that he is the right person to run the cricket board. PCB has hundreds of employees and it deals with lots of international issues like arranging series, giving contracts etc. The Board Chairman does not have to be a very good cricketer but he does have to have very good management skills and be able to honestly voice his opinions at international forums so that Pakistan cricket should benefit and not the Chairman or some other person. Furthermore the present system of PCB is ad hoc based and no real constructive efforts can be achieved through it. The president hand picks the chairman himself and the chairman has too many veto powers over a lot of things, so it gets all political. I wish that we have a proper system and to get a good leader who will change our way of management from the grass roots level. Only then we can sustain our place like Australia have done in the recent times.

As great a player Wasim Akram was, he was notoriously involved in match fixing. Especially after the recent spot fixing scandal, people like Wasim, Ijaz Ahmed, Moin Khan etc are the last thing the PCB needs! A

In my opinion Imran Khan or Zaheer Abbas might be the better choice over Wasim akram...he was not even a successfull captain of the team during his time and lot of controversies remained during his tenure as a player when he was playing for the team but not as a captain..
