LAHORE, Sept 13: Four-year-old chestnut filly Victory Light is fancied to land the feature event during the midweek Lahore gymkhana races at the Racecourse here on Wednesday.
Victory Light is participating in the sixth race, the Desert Prince Plate class VI division I and II, in a small field of seven runners to be contested over the sprinting distance of 1,000 metres.
Brave Zoia, Golden Star and Royal Rose may fight for places.
The quartet of good sprinters like the unknown pedigree horse Punjabi Sultan, Sajan, Naveed Prince and Umair Prince look good in a big field of 16 runners in the fifth and supporting event, the Dominator Plate class VII division I and II to be gone over 1,000 metres.
Beaten last time out by Untar, dark-bay Punjabi Sultan should battle it out with Naveed Prince while Sajan and Umair Prince running after a long rest should be fighting for a place on the board.
Four-year-old bay filly Little Baby, who finished fourth last Wednesday, should make amends and pick up the spoils in the Dominator Plate class VII division III over 1,000 metres.
Shahzada Jogi, Kitten and Makhmoor should be fighting for securing a place on the board.
Miss Muga, Salman Sahib and Capri Queen are the pick of the seven runners drawn for the third race in an event in which all the runners have a chance and should provide the race-goers shrills and thrills.
The handicap goes in favour of the lowest placed mare Capri Queen.
The first and second race has seven runners each. All the runners belong to the lowest divisions of the class VII division IV-A and division IV-B. Most of them are unreliable and inconsistent performers in races.
This is the reason they have come down in the handicap where they become a liability for the handicapper as t where place them. For punters winner picking will be a difficult task in the two races.
A card of six events will be decided. Each race will be contested over 1,000m. The first race will start at 2.00pm.
