KARACHI: Police arrested an extortionist from North Karachi Sector and recovered illegal weapon and small slips used to send threats to extract money.

Police officials said one of their teams raided New Karachi Sector 5A-1 near Baba Mor where two extortionists were busy collecting money from the shopkeepers, after receiving a tip.

Police arrested an extortionist, identified as Abul Bengali s/o Abdul Hakeem, while his accomplice Arshad alias Keto managed to flee.

A pistol, magazine, cartridges and some slips used were recovered from Abul Bengali. An FIR has been registered against the accused.
