KARACHI:  The country will face a new wave of monsoon rains on Sunday which will cause consistent heavy showers in lower Sindh, DawnNews reported.

According to Meteorological Department, a new system of monsoon winds is heading towards Pakistan from India, which will bring torrential rains in Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Umerkot, Tharparkar and Mirpurkhas. These areas will continuously receive rains until Wednesday.

The Met Department further stated that the fresh session of rains will also bring heavy showers to parts of southern Punjab and eastern Balochistan.

In the past 24 hours Karachi received 85 mm of rain while Badin and Peshawar area received eight and six mm of rain respectively.
