HYDERABAD, Nov 8: Four convicts in the Daniel Pearl kidnapping and murder case offered Taraveeh prayers collectively as the Hyderabad prison administration provided them an under trial prisoner, who is a Hafiz-i-Quran.
The Hafiz-i-Quran, confined in Dar-ul-Quran ward, led the Taraveeh prayers for the convicts, Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, Fahad Naseem, Syed Salman Saqib and Sheikh Adil, in a room of the security ward.
The convicts would, however, offer five time prayers separately in their cells of the se-curity ward.
Sheikh Aslam, the brother of Adil, had submitted a application to the Sindh home secretary, asking him to allow the convicts to offer Taraveeh prayers collectively with the other prisons or to provide them a separate Hafiz-i-Quran.
BAIL GRANTED: The circuit bench of the Sindh High Court on Thursday granted a two-week-long protective bail before arrest to the former minority MNA, Dr Khatu Mal Jeewan, and Dr Ashok Kumar Ratnani.
The bail was granted in a case of violence.
