SHIKARPUR: Villager killed

SHIKARPUR, Nov 7: A villager, Waris Dino alias Khadim Tanwri, was killed in an encounter between bandits and the villagers in Jindo Tanwri village on Wednesday night.

The outlaws entered the house of Tanwri apparently to steal some bulls but the villagers offered resistance by firing at the bandits who returned fire.

As a result, Tanwri was killed in the firing by the outlaws.

The Lakhi Ghulam Shah police have registered a case.

ZAKAT FUNDS: The chairman, District Zakat and Ushr Committee, Shikarpur, the district Zakat officer and chairman, Taluka Zakat Committee, distributed Rs6 million Zakat under permanent rehabilitation scheme among 6,000 jobless persons hall here on Thursday.—BoC
