SIALKOT, Nov 5: Dacoits looted the house of an expatriate in Burj Arayian (Bambanwala) village of Daska tehsil on Tuesday.

The gang of eight dacoits remained in the house of Yaseen Yousaf for three hours and took away cash and other valuables worth Rs1.3 million.

It was the 15th strike by bandits in the district during the last 36 hours.

According to details, the dacoits stormed into the house of Yaseen Yousaf, who recently returned from Saudi Arabia, around 11:30 pm on Monday and held up all family members. They left the house around 2.30am on Tuesday with 60,000 Saudi riyals (about Rs1 million) gold ornaments, Pakistani currency, electronic goods and other valuables.

Police registered a case, with no arrest.

Meanwhile, it was learnt that the Punjab IGP and Gujranwala Range DIG have expressed dissatisfaction over the failure of Sialkot police to check the incidents of dacoity, robbery and theft.

Sources said the IGP has sought a detailed report about the rising crime graph in the district from Sialkot DPO and Daska DSP.
