HYDERABAD, Nov 15: The Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Central Labour Union at a meeting held here on Thursday, discussed in detail the situation arising out of the revision of basic pay scales and fringe benefits of Wapda employees.

The meeting expressed concern over the withdrawal of Rs400 per month allowed to the employees as “special Wapda relief allowance” quite separately by the government.

It observed that this would create financial problems for 140,000 Wapda employees.

The meeting adopted a resolution demanding that the allowance of Rs400 per month should not be withdrawn while introducing the revised pay scales with effect from Dec 1.
