HYDERABAD, Nov 15: The Jeay Sindh Students Federation (JSSF) has threatened to launch a movement against the recovery of Rs1,000 computer fee from the college students and said that this move was aimed at depriving the poor students of their right to education.

In a joint statement issued here on Thursday, JSSF leaders, Surhia Sindhi, Mir Mushtaq Soomro, Azam Bhatti and Ali khan Solangi, said that in the Sindh province the subject of computer in colleges had been made compulsory and each student was required to pay an additional fee of Rs1,000 for this subject.

They claimed that this was inspite of the fact that neither computers nor teachers of this subject were available in any college.

They said that in Punjab, Balochistan and the NWFP the subject of computer was optional and no additional fee was being charged there.

They further said that according to their information, the computer training was being given on contract to some computer companies which was simply inconceivable.

The JSSF leaders demanded that the students should be exempted from the payment of computer fee and warned that in cooperation with other students organisations, the JSSF would launch a protest movement against the recovery of computer fee.
