HYDERABAD, Aug 8: The Sindh chapter of the Awami National Party has said that the party will stand by people of Sindhi and will never accept division of the province or the local government ordinance 2001.

Addressing a news conference here on Monday, former senior vice-president of ANP Sindh, Haji Asmatullah Khan Mehsud and other party leaders, demanded restoration of commissioner system and LG ordinance 1979.

They said the abolition of commissioner system was aimed at dividing Sindh.

ANP had always supported the ruling party to strengthen democracy and never threatened it or blackmailed it, he said. He called for an indiscriminate clean-up operation in Karachi to curb terrorism and restore a lasting peace in Sindh and Karachi.
