LARKANA, Nov 3: The Public School Larkana (PSL) won the trophy in the declamation contest held on the theme: The 21st Century is the Century of Unrest.
Speeches were delivered in English, Urdu, and Sindhi languages.
The debate was arranged by the Public School Larkana in collaboration with the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Larkana, at the school’s auditorium on Thursday.
Students from colleges and higher secondary schools of Larkana, Shikarpur, and Jacobabad took part in the debate.
The panel of judges comprised Prof Bashir Ahmed Shaad, Prof Hadi Bukhsh Baloch, Prof Mahmood-ul-Hassan Siddiqui, Prof Abdul Malik Arain, Prof Bashir Ahmed Chandio, and Prof Ahsan Danish Agha.
The debate was presided over by the district coordination officer (DCO), Larkana, and the chairman, Board of Governors of the Public School, Noor Ali Khan.
The chairman, BISE, Larkana, Ali Nawaz Palejo, and the executive district officer (Education), Prof Shahnawaz Memon, were the chief guest and the guest of honour respectively on the occasion.
The name of the winners are as follows:
For speeches in English: Waqar Abbasi of the Public School Larkana won first prize, Rave Das of the Galaxy Model School Shikarpur second and Imran Nazir Shaikh of the Public School third.
For speeches in Urdu: Afzal Soomro of the C & S College Shikarpur won first prize, Saqib Jabbar of the Cadet College Larkana second, and Afkar Tunio of the Public School Larkana third.
Samiullah of the Public School Larkana won first prize for giving a speech in Sindhi.
A debate on the same topic for girl students was held at the Government Girls Degree College Shikarpur.
Students of the Public School Larkana again won three prizes.
Samar Altaf won first prize for her speech in Urdu, Qurat-ul-Ain Wagan won second prize for a speech in English, and Marvi Sangi won third prize for a speech in Sindhi.—APP
