ISLAMABAD, Aug 3: Federal Ombudsperson for Protection of Women against Harassment at Workplace Musarrat Hilali on Wednesday dismissed a driver of Islamabad Model College for Girls, G-9/2, for harassing a female teacher of the institution.

The teacher lodged a complaint against Ghulam Mustafa, the driver, for misbehaving with her. She said when the driver was asked to behave properly, he turned violent and abused her in the presence of students.

The ombudsperson referred the complaint to the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) for provision of necessary personal record of the driver.

According to an official, the record revealed that the driver had been involved in many cases of insulting female principals.

The driver’s record also showed that he had been frequently transferred by the directorate on similar complaints. Keeping in view the documentary evidences, statements of the complainants and cross questioning of the counsel for the driver during two hearings, the ombudsperson dismissed the driver from service.— Staff Reporter
