KARACHI, Nov 3: The KESC scheme 33 grid in Super Highway linking Wapda and sending electricity through 6-extra high tension 132KV circuits to the city will be fully overhauled and made functional providing reliable power supply by Nov 6, a KESC spokesman said on Sunday.

The overhauling and repair of five circuits, the Wapda-KESC link (Kalo- Kohar), Malir, Gulistan-i-Jauhar, Gulshan and Valika, has been finalized, and work on the sixth circuit, KDA-Federal B-Area, will be carried out from Nov 4 to 6.

The load on Malir, Gulistan-i-Jauhar, Gulshan circuits would be shifted on other circuits, therefore no loadshedding was carried out on these circuits. But for the repair of KDA-Valika circuit the KESC carried out loadshedding during the evening peak hours as announced on Oct 30.

The KESC announced the following new loadshedding programme on Sunday:

6pm to 7pm: Block 16, 19 and 20 Federal B-Area, Gulshan-i- Iqbal Block 1, 2, 3, 6, 13D, Cosmos Plaza, Yousuf Plaza, Anarkali Bazaar, sector 15-A1, 15-A2, and A5A, Buffer Zone, North Karachi. North Karachi’s sectors 11-A, 11-B, 11-I, Sanober Cottage, sectors 5C-1, 5C-2, 5C-3, 5C-4, sector 5B, 5J and 5M North Karachi, North Nazimabad Block C, D, L and M. Block B, J and K, North Nazimabad, Nazimabad 1, 2 and 5.

7pm to 8pm: FB Area’s Blocks 7, 8, 9, 17, 18, 19, 20, Good Earth Bungalows, Al-Asif Square, industrial area, Yaseenabad, Gulshan-i-Shamim, North Karachi, sectors 12A, 12B, 11F and 11G. North Nazimabad Blocks C, F, H, G, Firdous Colony, Haji Mureed Goth, and Nazimabad No 2. Orangi Town’s sectors 4E, 4F, 5E, 9E, 11E and sectors 10 and 13, Hanifabad, Al-fatah Colony, MPR Colony, Islamia Colony.
