DHAKA, Nov 2: In its anti-crime drive, the army has arrested another opposition member of Parliament, Talukder Abdul Khalek, on Nov 1, bringing the number of MPs arrested to three

The army picked up Khalek, an Awami League MP from a Khulna constituency who was the State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief in the Cabinet of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, from his Khulna town residence at about 4:30 pm on Friday.

Protesting the arrest, the Khulna city Awami League has called a half-day shutdown in the metropolitan town on Sunday.
