Outlaws strike 11 times

FAISALABAD, Nov 2: Unidentified bandits made off with thousands of rupees in cash, ornaments and hijacked six motorcycles and a car in 11 different strikes in and around the city during the last 24 hours.

Armed bandits looted thousands of rupees in cash, ornaments and other valuables from the house of Zaheer Ahmed in Ghulam Muhammad-abad.

Thieves took away thousands of rupees in cash and other valuables from two houses in Kaleem Shaheed Colony in the absence of inmates.

Five masked dacoits looted electric appliances and gold worth hundreds of thousands of rupees at pistol point from the house of Muhammad Nasir in Peoples Town.

A gang of bandits looted thousands of rupees in cash and other articles from Naveed Ahmed’s house in Ghulam Muhammadabad and also took away a motorcycle.

Two highwaymen snatched a two-wheeler (FDZ-8811) from Shahzad Aziz at gunpoint and sped away.

Three masked highwaymen deprived student Muhammad Ali of his motorcycle (FDZ-3605) in Civil Lines area.

A gang of three robbers snatched a motorcycle (FDG-4835) from Qasim Nazeer at pistol point and fled.

Some vehicle lifters took away a car of trader Ahsan Bukhari which he parked outside a clinic in Jinnah Colony.

Muhammad Arshad of Soosan Road and Saifullah of Peoples Colony were deprived of their two-wheelers in different incidents.

The local police have miserably failed to control the escalating trend of dacoities, highway robberies and vehicle snatching despite setting up pickets on all inter-city routes.

Trade bodies, including Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Anjuman Tajiran Faisalabad, Pakistan Yarn Merchants Association and Jewellers Association Faisalabad criticized the police for its failure to check the rising incidents of crime.
