HYDERABAD, Nov 1: Special persons should be respected and given proper attention to enable them to become productive members of the society.

The vice chancellor of the University of Sindh, Mazharul Haq Siddiqui, said on Friday while speaking at the inaugural session of the two-day “First Exhibition of Paintings and Handicraft of Special Children and Persons.”

The exhibition was organised by the Club for Special Children in Collaboration with the Institute of Sindhology.

The vice chancellor urged the parents and the teachers to encourage them to bring out their latent talents.

He complimented the members of the Club for organizing the exhibition.

He said that the teachers in their schools should also encourage those students who needed their attention and guidance. He appreciated the special children for their beautiful paintings and handicrafts and paintings of special persons and added that they had proved that they are useful to their parents, teachers and society.

Dr Nasreen Junejo, Samina Memon, Najma Panhwar, Dr Mumtaz Bhutto and Prof Azra Kandhar also expressed their views on the occasion.

Later prizes were distributed by the vice chancellor.

First prize was awarded to Sadaf Marvi Halepoto of the Service Center for Blinds, Hyderabad; Second Prize went to the RCPH Center and the 3rd prize went to the Shah Latif Special Center. A gold medal was awarded to Sofia Kanwal. A cash prize of Rs 1000 was announced by Begum vice chancellor Akhtar Jabeen Siddiqui for Sadaf Marvi.

MUET: The Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) Jamshoro has announced for the information of students of 98-batch 2nd term final year (8th term regular) department of Mechanical Engineering, MUET, Jamshoro that their practical examination (refrigeration and air-conditioning), which was scheduled to be held on Nov 11, would now be conducted on Nov 5 and practical of (mechanical vibration), which was scheduled to be held on Nov 12, would now be held on Nov 4.
