TIMERGARA, July 19: The Executive District Officer, Health, Dr Shaukat Ali, on Tuesday terminated services of six lady health workers, suspended seven ward keepers 'ardalies' and stopped salary of other health officials for negligence during the ongoing three-day campaign against polio.

A notification to this effect was issued here. Two more lady health workers have been asked to explain their absence from duties.

Later, talking to journalists the EDO Shaukat Ali said: “We took action after receiving several complaints against the staff for negligence in duty”.

The EDO warned to take strict disciplinary action against the health officials who were found non-serious during the course of the drive.

He said the refusal cases were being properly addressed with the help of the district administration. He said the anti-polio campaign in the district was being conducted smoothly as there had been no no-go areas.

RESULT:

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Malakand Chakdara, will announce the annual results for the intermediate examination 2011, today (Wednesday).

This was stated by controller examinations Jan Dad Khan Marwat, while talking to journalists. He said top ten position holder students had been informed and an award giving ceremony would also be held on the same day. EXPIRED:

A patient identified as Abdul Manan, 55, hailing from the Bajaur Agency, expired in a ward at THQ hospital Chakdara on Tuesday, sources told Dawn. They said the patient was admitted for treatment but there was no staff at night to take care of him. The patient fell of his bed and remained on the ground till morning.
