KARACHI, Oct 30: Prominent educationist Dr Peerzada Qasim Siddiqui has emphasized the significance and need of academic enrichment through specialized bodies and councils.

He was addressing the Academic Council meeting of Commecs Institute of Business Education (CIBE) after his selection as chairman of the Council, says a statement on Wednesday.

Dr Peerzada Qasim appreciated the commendable efforts of Commecs for the academic enhancement of society and specially praised CIBE, the first project of Commecs.

He stressed the need for setting up of institutes like CIBE to be the benchmarks for future institutes.

Ahsan M. Saleem, member of the Council, highlighted the performance of Commecs and CIBE and pointed out the need for developing a sense of high expectations and in particular high professional standards.

The meeting focussed on determining a future action plan for CIBE.—APP
