KARACHI: KUTS calls off boycott

Published October 31, 2002

KARACHI, Oct 30: Karachi University Teachers Society has ended, with immediate effect, its boycott of the University’s statutory bodies.

This was announced by KUTS secretary Sarwar Nasim in a statement on Wednesday.

He said that KUTS had ended its boycott of bodies such as University’s Senate, Syndicate, Academic Council and BASR in the interest of the University and its students.

Sarwar Nasim said that with this decision the interaction of the faculty members with the University administration had also resumed.

He hoped that this would contribute towards improvement of academic atmosphere on the campus.

However, Sarwar Nasim pointed out that the teachers’ campaign against the model university ordinance and other anti-education policies would continue.
