KARACHI, Oct 30: The last date for submission of forms for admission to Master’s in Computer Science and Postgraduate Diploma in Computer and Information Science at the Department of Computer Science, University of Karachi, is Oct 31.

The incharge of the department, Dr Nasir Touheed, said on Wednesday that admissions in evening and morning programmes of the courses were being given simultaneously, while classes would start on January 1. No admission would be given in July.

Eligibility for admission to the MCS programme is BSc/BA with Computer Science, statistics or Physics with Mathematics at least in second division. Candidates having passed BSc/BA or BCom (with at least second division) plus Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science/Mathematics/ Statistics from the University of Karachi or equivalent examination could also apply.

The requirement for admission to Postgraduate Diploma is a bachelor degree or equivalent, with at least second division. Applicants would also be required to clear the admission test.

Forms and prospectus are available from UBL counter at the silver jubilee gate, which would be accepted at the Department of Computer Science till Oct 31.
