Punjab, Sindh enter final

LAHORE,  Nov 14: Punjab Whites and Sindh Colours qualified for the final of the All Pakistan Fatima Jinnah Memorial Women Hockey tournament at the National Hockey Stadium Wednesday.

In the classification matches, Punjab Whites defeated its Colours side 2-1 after taking 1-0 lead at the interval. Sindh Colours outplayed Sindh Whites 4-0 after gaining 2-0 lead at the half time.

The  final will be played on Thursday at 10.30 am. Earlier, Punjab Colours and Sindh Whites will play the for third position at 9 am.

In the all-Punjab contest all three goals were scored in  the first half. Each half is of 30-minutes duration.

Punjab Whites took the lead through inside-left captain Razia Malik in the 16th minute. She scored a field goal. Aqeela Naeem doubled it in the 32nd minute. She also banged home with a field goal.

Two  minutes later, Punjab Colours scored their solitary goal which came from centre-half Asia.

Two goals by full-back Ghazala Zaheer helped Sindh Colours to beat Sindh Whites by a 4-0. Ghazala Zaheer scored in the 22nd and 42nd minute. Centre-forward Erum Mahboob (12th minute) and another striker Zakia (47th minute) added one goal apiece.
