Afridi, Razzaq to represent Melbourne in Big Bash

SYDNEY: Melbourne Renegades named Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi as one of their two overseas recruits for Australia's revamped domestic Twenty20 league on Friday.

The former Pakistan captain ignored more lucrative offers to join compatriot Abdul Razzaq, who was also named in the Renegades' 16-member squad, local media said.

Afridi resigned in acrimony in May, citing differences with the Pakistan Cricket Board.

England's Owais Shah has joined Pakistani paceman Rana Naveed as the second foreign recruit at Hobart Hurricanes.

West Indian Chris Gayle (Sydney Thunder) and Englishman Paul Collingwood (Perth Scorchers) are among other foreign players who have signed for the eight-team 'Big Bash' tournament starting on Dece. 16.

Great news. My advice to Afridi and A. Razzaq at this crucial juncture in time and history is to let their 'bat and ball' do the talking as they say in cricket. By performing at the peak in all departments of the game in Australia as guest overseas players, they can prove with a big bang that PCB was wrong in ignoring them and treating them badly.

Hopefully PCB realize their mistake and apologized their mistake in public or at least if they do not have guts then let their key players return to cricket without any influence from politics otherwise it will be long journey for people of pakistan to see their hero perform without any interference within group or managment if they think pakistan first then all is well.

PCB act smart otherwise,you guys will suffer most defeat in crucial games if there is no elite players on the team look at West Indies nothing against WI but you can learn from it you cannot win if there is not enough experience players on the team forget about the past look at the future,do not waste time and playing hard in your players they are the future to lead to winning more games remember if it wasnt for them you guys do not have job on the team managment change players change no winning result on the table before its too late just listen for god sake to win for the country not for yourself.

I think PCB has links with bookies and Afridi being an honest person was in their way that's why they sidelined him.
