Team ‘Bandial’ captures cup

RAWALPINDI, Oct 29: The team “bandial” beat Rawalpindi by five goals to two and half goals to win the club tournament at Rawalpindi Polo Club on Tuesday.

The club tournament, a single match affair, is played towards the end of a polo season.

Qaiser Ali Azhar scored twice while Imran Najeeb, Tufail Raja and Ahmed Yar Bandial once each for the team “Bandial”. Rawalpindi played with a one and half goal advantage with the only goal from field play coming from Khalid Zia.

Khurshid Khan and Sawar Malhi Khan were the umpires of this match.

Phoenix Security Cup, the last regular tournament of autumn season at Rawalpindi Polo Club, gets underway Wednesday with four teams competing on the single league basis.

The teams in the four-day tournament will be:President’s Bodyguards Blues, Spurs Grays, Remounts Maroon and PAF.

The final of this tournament Saturday will bring the curtain down on autumn season at Rawalpindi Polo Club, during which six tournaments were held.—APP
