MMA can run govt: MNA-elect

Published October 30, 2002

KOHAT, Oct 29: Mufti Ibrar Sultan, the MNA-elect from Kohat, said that Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal would respect people’s mandate and added that their electoral success was the result of a democratic process and not revolution.

Mufti Ibrar pledged to fulfil the promises he had made during the election campaign for the development of his constituency and for the cause of Islam. He said the MMA would strive for the implementation of the recommendations of the Council of Islamic Ideology if they were approved by parliament.

Talking to delegations at his residence, he claimed that the MMA was capable of running the government and hoped that it would come up to people’s expectations.
