LAHORE, Oct 28: There is a great difference in a government policy and a point-of-view of a common man.

This was stated by Governor Khalid Maqbool while responding to a reporter’s question about FJMC/GRH BoG chairman Prof Dr Mahmood Ali Malik’s suggestion that the old and reputed medical colleges should be given an option whether they wanted to retain their affiliation with the Punjab University or seek affiliation with the University of Health Sciences.

Answering another question that emergency slip fee in all teaching hospitals has been increased from Rs2 to Rs10 and Rs50, the governor said that he did not know about this increase.

“I will check it,” he added.

About Dr Amir Aziz’s arrest, he said the interior minister had already given a statement on this issue and it did not look nice that being a provincial government representative he issued a statement. He, however, said that Dr Aziz had been kept in Islamabad for interrogation. He also claimed that he (Dr Aziz) had contacts with his family. — Reporter
