ISLAMABAD, June 28: A vendor was gunned down in the capital's rural area on Tuesday, police said.

The victim was identified as Aman Khan, 40, a native of Buner. The police said some armed persons were hiding in Aman's vegetable kiosk in Pindorian village and when he, accompanied by another kiosk owner Adam Khan, reached there, they opened fire on him.

The police said Aman received two bullet shots while one bullet hit Adam Khan.

The police shifted the two to hospital where Aman was pronounced dead while Adam with a bullet injury to his abdomen was operated upon and stated to be out of danger.

The police said Aman had murdered his maternal aunt's son-in-law over a petty issue a couple of years back. The matter was almost settled by the elders of the clan but the decision of a Jirga was expected this week.

Father of five children, Aman last year eloped with a married woman, mother of a son. They came to the capital and settled in Pindorinan.

A case of kidnapping and zina was registered against the couple in a police station of Buner.

The capital police have taken the woman in custody and informed the Buner police about the case.

Meanwhile, a security guard was found dead in Blue Area on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Abdul Rehman, 40, a native of Gujar Khan.

He was employed in Business Security Company and deployed outside its office.
