SUKKUR, Oct 28: The Anti-Terrorism Court, Sukkur and Larkana divisions, here on Monday remanded the three accused of killing a Kandhkot journalist, Shahid Soomro, in the police custody for three days.

The accused, Waheed Ali Bijarani, Mohammad Ali Bijarani and Siddiq Bajkani were brought from Kandhkot in two police mobiles.

Riaz Ahmed Rajput, the judge of the ATC, observed that the case did not come under the jurisdiction of the ATC as the police had booked the accused under section 365 instead of 365A.

A large number of journalists, who were present in the court, expressed their anger against the police.

Later, a protest meeting was held in the Sukkur Press Club, which condemned the police for deliberately trying to weaken the case.

It was decided in the meeting to form a panel of advocates to discuss the matter with the police officials how section 365 could be changed with section 365A into the FIR, lodged by the brother of the slain Shahid.
