
LAHORE: Pakistan's top departments and clubs will be on display when the PFF Premier League kicks 0ff from July in Karachi and Quetta.
“The event will host as many as 12 departments and four clubs,” a spokesman of Pakistan Football Federation said here on Monday.
The opening match of the tournament will see Muslim FC taking on PMC ATH FC at Quetta's Sadiq Shaheed Stadium, while HBL will face NAVY at the Peoples Football Stadium Karachi. A strong KESC side will play against Army at KPT Football Stadium in Karachi.
The 16 teams participating in the event scheduled to run until December 28, comprise of Water & Power Development Authority (WAPDA), Khan Research Laboratories (KRL), Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Karachi Electric Supply Corporation, Army, Karachi Port Trust (KPT), Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Afhan FC, Navy, Pak Electron Company (PEL), Baloch FC, National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), Habib Bank Limited (HBL), Punjab Media College (PMC Ath FC), Police and Muslim FC.
The marathon event will host 240 matches to be played at 7 venues in four cities across the country.
Each team will play 30 matches on a home and away basis.
Wapda has won the Premier League four times, Army twice, and KRL once.
Each match has a bonus of Pak Rs.25,000 and the prize money of Rs.600,000 for the Winner and Rs.400,000.
